Nearly every radiological test requires some degree of preparation on the patient’s part to ensure the most accurate results.
Biopsy | Bring prior images and reports one business day prior to your examination |

Bone Density | No Preparation. |
Computed Tomography | Nothing to eat for 4 hours before the examination, but please drink at least 2-3 bottles of water to get well hydrated before the examination. Pick up barium on the business day before your examination. |
Mammography | Before the examination, do not wear deodorant, talcum powder or lotion under your arms. Please bring your prior images for comparison. |
MRCP | Nothing by mouth for 4 hours before the examination. |
MRI with Contrast | Nothing to eat or drink for 4 hours before the test. |
Ultrasound | For all ultrasounds of your abdomen, you should have nothing by mouth for 8 hours before the examination. For pelvic ultrasounds we require a full bladder. Please consume 32 ounces of water 1 hour before the examination. |
